Irene Hill Memorial Bursary

In 2010, the equestrian community suffered a great loss with the passing of Irene Hill. After a courageous battle with cancer, Irene passed away on December 20, 2010. She was an avid supporter of dressage in Calgary and a wonderful horsewoman. She will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

In honour of Irene's generous spirit and passion for dressage, the CA/ADA founded the Irene Hill Memorial Bursary. This Bursary is open to all Juniors and Young Riders. It is not necessary to be a part of the Young Rider program, but, to be eligible applicants must be between 14 and 21 and a member of the CA/ADA in good standing by February 28th of the year in which they are applying. The proceeds of this bursary may be used only to further the recipient's education in the sport of dressage. This can include lessons, clinics and educational seminars.

Applicants must compose a letter introducing themselves and their horses, describe their goals, and share what inspires and drives their love of dressage. Accompanying this letter should be a letter of reference from an adult. This can include, but is not limited to, a friend, coach or barn manager. The deadline for this bursary has been extended for 2016 to October 30th and the recipient will be announced at the Annual General Meeting in November.

Please submit applications to Kaleigh Brinkhurst, President CA/ADA.
